Recovery From Breast Enhancement Surgery

Breast enhancement surgeries are on the rise. In particular, breast augmentation surgeries are increasing in numbers every year. More and more women want larger, firmer breasts and they are willing to spend thousands of dollars to have them, and spend several months in recovery.

When you first awaken after your surgery, you will be groggy and delirious from the anesthesia. This will pass in time, usually within an hour or two. At that point you should be able to go home. Of course, it will be up to your surgeon when you get to go home.

Your surgeon will require that you wear a compression bra to hold your breasts in place and prevent any unnecessary movement. Don't skip this or think you can do without it. The bra is required for a reason!

You will need to stay at home for at least a few days. Hopefully you will have planned your recovery properly and have at least one person catering to your needs at home. This person should take care of any responsibilities of yours that require physical work. Remember, you aren't supposed to lift your arms above your head until your doctor says it's ok!

Plenty of rest and plenty of water are the next two biggest requirements of you during your recovery. Those two along with the two prescriptions your surgeon gives you (one, and antibiotic, and two, a pain killer). Be sure you take both prescriptions until they're gone.
